Visit at the Canadian Global Leader International Education Conference| 2018.12.11.

Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), an institution serving the internationalisation of higher education organised the Global Leader International Education Conference between 18-21 November 2018. Organised by Tempus Public Foundation, with the support of Campus Mundi, Hungarian higher education was represented by a delegation of 14 persons from 11 universities. Corvinus University of Budapest was represented by Isvtán Vilmos Kovács, director of international relations and innovation.

A highlighted forum of CBIE is the annually organised global leader international education conference that is first of all a meeting of the directors of 150 Canadian higher educational institutions responsible for internationalisation. However, it also functions as a platform for the introduction of representatives of the business sector that serve the internationalisation of higher education by their services (international marketing, financial transfers, admission management, recruitment agencies, etc.).

The exhibition counter of the Hungarian delegation was located at one of the most crowded spot of the exhibition. 2-3 Hungarian higher educational institution accepted the visitors at the same time. Among the visitors, there were people interested in Hungarian higher education, international coordinators working in Canadian higher education as well as representatives of the business sector offering their services.

In the section created for the introduction of Hungarian higher education, István Vilmos Kovács introduced the story of the constant professional work and efforts that strived to deepen inter-institutional relations. A demonstrative factor of the success of this work is firstly the spectacular results of Hungarian students in business case competitions, secondly the strengthening connections with McGill that has the 33. place in the QS global ranking.  The feedbacks of the participants proved that stories like this demonstrate the opportunities and potentials embedded in international work.

The Director also participated in bilateral meetings, in which he reviewed the experiences of the existing inter-institutional relations as well as the further possibilities to widen these relations.  The way to involve other fields of science of the other two faculties of the University in the exiting cooperation with Corvinus Business School was the most important question. The discussions confirmed that for achieving this purpose, besides the mutual research fields and personal connections, it is necessary to introduce the English language programmes, the content of the programmes and the context of education as transparently as possible.<xml></xml>
